We do not necessarily agree with this viewpoint. We also believe the events that happen in history shape a person, but not more so than actual events and circumstances that happen to that individual. If you believe that every person in a generation is impacted the same way by the same event, you will never manage to diverse backgrounds. Just because a person grew up in a certain time period, they did not have the same experiences as everyone else in that period. Case in point, Ms. Hankin brought up drug use being very popular in the 60’s, the hippy generation, as it were.
